Brighton City Reads 2008 celebrates crime writer Val McDermid’s A Place of Execution from 13 March until 23 May, the idea being that if everyone reads the same book, it brings people together. Events include a free film screening of Wire in the Blood on Saturday 5 April at 10am, free library readings and discussions at the library throughout April, a Crime Walk on Thursday 17 April at 7.30pm and a Crime Book Quiz at the Lord Nelson on Wednesday 23 April.
