After just missing out on the Mercury prize, Bat For Lashes gets another chance for a fancy doorstop this month as she’s been nominated for two Brit Awards. Wolf-loving Natasha Khan will face competition from the likes of Kate Nash and PJ Harvey in the Best British Female category, and lines up against popsters Mika and Leona Lewis for the – eek – Radio 1 listener-voted British Breakthrough Act prize. Despite expectations to the contrary Belle & Sebastian blagged their way to the gong and relative outsiders The Fratellis also won, although they’re admittedly shit.
